Author Guidelines

Interested in submitting to this journal? We recommend that you review the About the Journal page for the journal's section policies, as well as the Author Guidelines. Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process. Alternatively, you may simply submit your article by email to manuscripts_fujbmhes@fuo.edu.ng after you have prepared it according to the guideline for authors.

Title Page:

Article title should be in sentence case (i.e., only the first letter is capitalised and not more than 16 words, Times New Roman, Bold, Font Size 12).
List all the authors by stating their surname followed by initials for a maximum of 8 authors (Times New Roman, Bold, Font Size 10).
Affiliations, department/ unit, college/ section, institution/ parastatal (Times New Roman, Not Bold, Font Size 10)
Corresponding author (only one email address, Times New Roman, Not bold, Italise, Font Size 8)
Abstract should be structured as background/ introduction, objective, methodology, result, and conclusion/recommendation. (The word limit for the abstract should not exceed 300, Block paragraph, single line spacing, Times New Roman, Font Size 12).
Keywords: Maximum of five related words
Units of measurement: It must be expressed in S.I. units, e.g. 5 mmol/L, 2.0 Meters, 15 g, 30 Seconds.
Symbols: Appropriate signs and symbols must be used or written out in words.

Body of the Work

Introduction
Methodology: Study area/study design, methods, and (descriptive and inferential) statistical analysis
Results: Tables, Figures, Plates, and Pictures should be exactly included where they are mentioned (Sources of any image or figure used should be included)
Discussion
Conclusion
Professional implications of the study
Limitations of the study
Funding/sponsorship/grant (with reference number)
Ethical approval (with reference number)
Informed consent
Acknowledgements
Reference (APA format 7th edition)

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
